Who can list

A CPA license is not required to list

The name is the marketplace, not a requirement. CPA Acquire is for accounting and financial-services practices of every kind — licensed CPA firms alongside bookkeeping businesses, enrolled-agent practices, payroll providers, and fractional finance practices. What matters is that buyers can understand what they are looking at, which is why every listing states its credential classification.

A mixed-service firm can list a primary type and add every other service it performs, rather than being squeezed into one label that misdescribes it.

How credentials are stated

Every listing carries one of these, chosen by the seller:

Licensed CPA firm: A public accounting practice operating under a CPA license or state firm permit.
Enrolled-agent practice: Led by an enrolled agent — a federally authorized tax practitioner. An EA is not a CPA.
Other licensed professional: Operated under a different professional license, such as an attorney-owned practice.
Accounting business (no CPA license): A bookkeeping, payroll, advisory, or accounting-services business that does not hold a CPA license. Common and entirely legitimate for non-attest work.
Prefer not to say: The seller has chosen not to state a credential classification.

CPA Acquire includes both licensed CPA firms and other accounting, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory businesses. Credentials and licensure are seller-reported unless expressly verified. CPA Acquire is a marketplace and is not itself a licensed CPA firm.

The ability to submit inquiries and request introductions to sellers.

What it does not include

Any guarantee that a seller will respond to you. Sellers are practice owners running a business, and some will not reply.
Any guarantee that a seller will disclose their identity. That decision is theirs alone and is separate from your payment.
Any guarantee that a transaction happens, or happens on particular terms.
Valuation, pricing guidance, or an opinion on whether a practice is worth its asking price.
Brokerage, negotiation, or representation of your interests. We make introductions and step out.
Financing, escrow, closing services, or document preparation.
Verification of anything a seller reported. Every figure is theirs, unaudited by us.
