CPA Firms
Confidential listings of licensed CPA practices — tax, attest, and advisory firms whose owners are exploring a sale, merger, or succession.
Licensed CPA firms differ from other accounting practices because ownership, attest, and independence rules may apply. Many states require that a CPA firm be majority-owned by licensed CPAs, and continuing attest engagements typically requires an appropriately licensed buyer and an active peer-review history. Those requirements should be confirmed with your own advisors and the relevant state board of accountancy before you commit.
Listings on CPA Acquire are blind by design: you will see a practice's region, revenue range, recurring-revenue percentage, service mix, and transition terms, but never the firm name or owner identity until the seller approves your access request.
CPA Acquire is a directory, not a broker. Once a seller approves your request, you and the seller handle diligence, negotiation, financing, client-consent, licensing, and closing on your own terms.

CPA firm listings never display the firm name, owner name, office address, or client names. Attest-specific details (peer-review files, engagement lists) should never be uploaded to the directory — share them privately, under your own NDA, only after you approve a buyer.
Plain-English background — not legal, tax, CPA, or valuation advice.
Browse the confidential CPA-firm listings on CPA Acquire, filter by state, revenue, and service mix, save the practices that fit your criteria, and request gated access. The seller reviews your request and decides whether to share additional detail. CPA Acquire does not match, rank, or recommend buyers — it lists practices and lets sellers control disclosure.
It depends on the practice and the state. Some states restrict CPA-firm ownership to licensed CPAs, and continuing attest work generally requires a licensed buyer. Non-CPAs can often acquire bookkeeping, tax-prep, payroll, or CAS practices that do not perform attest services. Confirm ownership and licensing rules with your attorney, a CPA, and the relevant state board — CPA Acquire does not provide legal or regulatory advice.
A confidential (or 'blind') listing describes a practice for sale without revealing the owner's identity, firm name, exact address, client names, or any client PII. Buyers see high-level teaser information — practice type, region, revenue range, service mix, and deal preferences — and request gated access. The seller decides, at their sole discretion, who is approved to see additional detail.
No. CPA Acquire is a listing directory only. It does not broker transactions, represent buyers or sellers, negotiate terms, recommend buyers or sellers, provide valuation advice, prepare transaction documents, hold funds, provide escrow, or facilitate closings. Buyers and sellers connect through the directory and then handle diligence, negotiation, financing, compliance, and closing independently with their own advisors.
